Even though the fact that online betting is now a many billion dollar industry, and endless thousands of additional bettors around the world log on every day to bet at online gambling dens, there are still millions of newbies to the world of web betting who don’t as yet have a good understanding of much of the catchphrases employed in web betting, and gambling on athletics in general. Nonetheless, insight of these terms is essential to knowing the games and codes of wagering:

ACTION: Any type of bet.

ALL-IN: In poker, all-in means a gambler has deposited all of his chips into the pot. A side pot is developed for the wagerers with remaining chips.

ALL-UP: To wager on several horses in the same race.

ANTE: A poker term for allocating a required sum of chips into the pot just beforeeach hand begins.

BRING-IN: A required wager in seven-card stud made by the player showing the lowest value card.

BUST: You don’t win; As in twenty-one, when a player’s cards are valued over 21.

BUY-IN: The the least amount of money necessary to appear in a game or event.

CALL: As in poker, when a wager is the same as an already made bet.

CHECK: In poker, to stay in the game and not wagering. This is applicable only if no other gamblers bet in that round.

CLOSING A BET: Like in spread betting, meaning to place a bet equal to but converse of the opening wager.

COLUMN BET: To wager on any of the 3 columns of a roulette table.

COME BET: In craps, close to a pass-line bet, but carried out after the shooter has arrived at his point.

COME-OUT ROLL: A crapshooters first toss to ascertain a point, or the first toss after a point is arrived at.

COVERALL: A bingo term, which means to fill all the numbers on a bingo card.

CRAPPING OUT: In craps, to roll a 2, three or 12 is an immediate loss on the come-out roll.

DAILY DOUBLE: To pick the champions of the first 2 matches of the night.

DOWN BET: To bet that the outcome of an action will be lower than the smallest end of the quote on a spread bet, also known as a "sell".

DOZEN BET: In roulette, to bet on any of three categories of 12 numbers, 1-twelve, etc.

EACH WAY BET: A sports wager, indicating to gamble on a team or player to succeed or medal in a game.

EVEN MONEY BET: A wager that pays out the identical amount as wagered, ( 1-1 ).

EXACTA: Betting that 2 horses in a race will finish in the absolute same order as the bet – also referred to as a " Perfecta ".

FIVE-NUMBER LINE BET: In roulette, a bet placed on a grouping of five numbers, such as 1-2-3-0, and 00.
