Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia casinos that lie just over the border from nearby Thailand, where gambling hall wagering is against the law. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a generally tiny area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent spot, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income acquired from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of limitations constraints for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; however, funding sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 17:00, and even though visas are allegedly needed to cross, there are ways around this, as is correct of most borders.
The first Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat gambling hall, highlights 150 slot machines and 60 tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are one hundred and fifty slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 slot machines and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and 96 table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the normal tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel complex that highlights many amenities accompanying the casino, which offers 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 one armed bandits and 88 table games.
